Pittsburgh CLO Ambassadors - Membership & Committees

All CLO Ambassador Members will:

  • Attend Ambassadors’ social, theatrical, fundraising, and educational events.
  • Participate as a member of one of the Ambassadors’ committees (listed below).
  • Volunteer for Pittsburgh CLO events and initiatives.
  • Attend Pittsburgh CLO performances.
  • Spread awareness of and be an advocate for the Pittsburgh CLO.
  • Recruit new Ambassadors.

Committees:

Wine Tasting

Purpose:

To raise awareness and funds to support the Pittsburgh CLO’s education and community engagement programs

Key Activity:

Organize the Ambassadors’ Annual Wine Tasting & Silent Auction, including securing sponsorships, selling admission tickets, organizing silent auction, selling raffle tickets, and soliciting volunteers.

Commitment/Expectations:

The committee meets at least monthly during the five months leading to the Annual Wine Tasting & Silent Auction with additional meetings to occur as necessary.  Committee members are expected to actively participate in some facet of the event preparation, whether it be gathering items for the silent auction, securing sponsorships, selling raffle tickets, etc.

Education & Community Engagement

Purpose

To promote the education and engagement efforts of the Pittsburgh CLO within our communities.

Key Activities:

Connecting the Ambassadors with opportunities to participate in various education and community engagement activities, that include:

  • Mentorship programs
  • Education and Training of Academy students
  • Ambassador hosted events to raise awareness for the CLO, the CLO’s education and engagement efforts, and the Ambassadors
  • School partnerships
  • Social Media awareness campaigns

Commitment/Expectations:

Monthly meetings; time commitment will vary based on which activities the Committee member volunteers to perform

Social

Purpose:

To strengthen the CLO Ambassador community and provide membership value through the organization of special events and networking opportunities.

Key Activities:

  • Create and organize Ambassador engagement opportunities, including social, theatrical, and educational events unique to the Ambassadors
  • Create and maintain CLO Ambassadors’ annual calendar

Commitment/Expectations:

Plan, attend, recruit attendees, and promote the events of the social committee

Membership

Purpose:

To ensure the sustainability and vibrancy of the CLO Ambassadors by attracting, engaging, and retaining a diverse set of members.

Key Activities:

  • Partner with Social Committee to host prospective member events
  • Increase awareness of Ambassadors
  • Increase diversity representation, equity, and inclusion for the Ambassador organization
  • Ensure clear, comprehensive, and timely communication to members
  • Maintain membership roster

Commitment/Expectations:

One committee meeting per quarter; must attend at least two prospective member events; willingness to actively participate in meetings, take on additional responsibilities as needed, and foster community with Ambassador members

Volunteer

Purpose:

To provide structured recruitment, organization, and communication for the individuals acting to support the Pittsburgh CLO through various events and activities.

Key Activities:

  • Identify volunteer opportunities and activity details
  • Recruit volunteers
  • Act as volunteer point person in conjunction with CLO staff to ensure consistent and adequate communication with volunteers
  • Aggregate Ambassador volunteer activity feedback

Commitment/Expectations:

Meets monthly; each committee member will be assigned as a point person for at least one activity/event per year
