DAVID DEL RIO

DAVID DEL RIO (Sonny) is an American actor best known for starring in Fox’s Grease Live!, Universal Studios Pitch Perfect, and Blumhouse’s The Belko Experiment. He's also starred in Disney's Geek Charming and on Broadway in In The Heights. David has directed four short films and his feature, Sick For Toys, is slated to be released this year. He is also the co-owner of The Reel You, a demo-reel service in Los Angeles. He graduated from New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida in 2006, and afterward graduated from the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, School of Film and Television in 2008.

JOSHUA GROSSO (Usnavi) is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. He recently appeared in a new Korean musical in New York called Under the Bodhi Tree. He is humbled to play such an iconic character in such an iconic show and share a story that has had such a profound effect on so many generations of people. GENNY LIS PADILLA (Nina) is taking a short break from her role in Broadway’s hit musical ON YOUR FEET! to reprise her performance from the 1st national tour of In The Heights where she starred opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda in her native country of Puerto Rico. She is an AMDA graduate and has a B.F.A in Musical Theater from the New School University. Patricia Philllips

PATRICIA PHILLIPS (Abuela Claudia) was honored to be the first woman of African American descent to play the Tony-winning role Carlotta in the longest running show on Broadway, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. She most recently appeared in the smash hit musical KINKY BOOTS with Billy Porter and Wayne Brady. She  was featured on the Emmy-winning Live From Lincoln Center production of SWEENEY TODD starring Emma Thompson and Audra McDonald. She also appeared in the original Broadway casts of the Tony winning productions LA BOHEME, THE SECRET GARDEN and THE SOUND OF MUSIC and can be heard on all three original cast recordings on DreamWorks, Columbia and RCA Victor. She appeared in JERRY SPRINGER THE OPERA at Carnegie Hall and television credits include: THE TONY AWARDS (x2), THE SOPRANOS and the film EVERYBODY’S FINE with Robert De Niro. She has been a featured soloist with The Pittsburgh Symphony, The Minnesota Orchestra, The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, The Indianapolis Symphony, The Bay Area Symphony, The Sioux City Symphony, The River City Brass Band, and The Virginia Symphony and considers my son, David, my finest production to date.

MICHAEL BALDERRAMA (director/Choreographer) joins Pittsburgh CLO from Chicago, where he is currently the resident Choreographer for Hamilton. Some of his select Broadway credits include Hamilton, Ghost, In the Heights and Movin’ Out, as well as films Rock of Ages, Across the Universe and Michael Jackson’s Ghost. Mr. Balderrama has choreographed and/or performed with Gloria Estefan, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Sutton Foster, Vanessa Williams, Brian Adams, Mariah Carey and Jay Sean. He was the Resident Director/Choreographer of the 2nd National Tour of In the Heights and Associate Choreographer and Creative Consultant for the Broadway musical Soul Doctor. He has taught for over 25 years on four continents, in more than 20 countries and in 47 of the 50 United States. He is currently producing the upcoming new musical Whiskeyland and new play Uncle Jackie with his production companies, Silver Towers Productions, LLC and Last Call Theatricals, LLC. 

JAMES CUNNINGHAM (Music Director) joins Pittsburgh CLO for the first time. Mr. Cunningham’s New York credits include Avenue Q, music director for Bunnicula (TheaterworksUSA and original cast recording), Hot Mess In Manhattan (The Araca Project) and Happy Birthday (TACT) for which he also provided original music. His National Tour credits as pianist/conductor include Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Spamalot, Evita and Cats. For the past three seasons he has been a frequent music director for Casa Mañana where his credits include Million Dollar Quartet, Spamalot, Rent, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables, Buddy…The Buddy Holly Story, Always…Patsy Cline and Cats. Regionally, he has also conducted productions for North Carolina Theatre, Sharon Playhouse, Shakespeare Theatre Company, The Engeman Theater, Paper Mill Playhouse, The MUNY and Cape Fear Regional Theatre. He holds degrees from Manhattan School of Music and New York University.

JAMES ALLEN WASHINGTON (Ensemble) Originally from Rochester, NY and is thrilled to be making his PCLO Debut! Point Park graduate. MICHAEL BALDERRAMA (director/Choreographer) joins Pittsburgh CLO from Chicago, where he is currently the resident Choreographer for Hamilton. Some of his select Broadway credits include Hamilton, Ghost, In the Heights and Movin’ Out, as well as films Rock of Ages, Across the Universe and Michael Jackson’s Ghost. Mr. Balderrama has choreographed and/or performed with Gloria Estefan, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Sutton Foster, Vanessa Williams, Brian Adams, Mariah Carey and Jay Sean. He was the Resident Director/Choreographer of the 2nd National Tour of In the Heights and Associate Choreographer and Creative Consultant for the Broadway musical Soul Doctor. He has taught for over 25 years on four continents, in more than 20 countries and in 47 of the 50 United States. He is currently producing the upcoming new musical Whiskeyland and new play Uncle Jackie with his production companies, Silver Towers Productions, LLC and Last Call Theatricals, LLC. 

JAMES CUNNINGHAM (Music Director) joins Pittsburgh CLO for the first time. Mr. Cunningham’s New York credits include Avenue Q, music director for Bunnicula (TheaterworksUSA and original cast recording), Hot Mess In Manhattan (The Araca Project) and Happy Birthday (TACT) for which he also provided original music. His National Tour credits as pianist/conductor include Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, Spamalot, Evita and Cats. For the past three seasons he has been a frequent music director for Casa Mañana where his credits include Million Dollar Quartet, Spamalot, Rent, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Misérables, Buddy…The Buddy Holly Story, Always…Patsy Cline and Cats. Regionally, he has also conducted productions for North Carolina Theatre, Sharon Playhouse, Shakespeare Theatre Company, The Engeman Theater, Paper Mill Playhouse, The MUNY and Cape Fear Regional Theatre. He holds degrees from Manhattan School of Music and New York University.
