Beth, an ambitious literary manager at a prestigious nonprofit theater, is poised to promote the voice of a brilliant unknown playwright...until a certain superstar performer writes a play that changes the course of her career forever. AN UNTITLED NEW PLAY BY JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is a musical satire about the politics of celebrity, storytelling and fighting for one’s ideas and ideals.

REGINALD L. DOUGLAS (Director) is the Artistic Producer of City Theatre where he curates, line-produces, and directs; oversees casting and artistic initiatives; and builds community partnerships. MATT SCHATZ (Book, Music & Lyrics) won the 2012 Kleban Prize in Musical Theatre for Love Trapezoid. Other recent plays and musicals include: The Burdens (2016 O'Neill Conference), Georama (Five 2017 NYMF Awards), An Untitled New Play By Justin Timberlake (2017 O'Neill Finalist) and Where Ever It May Be (EST/Sloan Commission). He is currently working on a new musical commission from Seattle Rep and BMG Music with director Wendy Goldberg. Matt received his MFA in playwriting from Carnegie Mellon University. He lives in Los Angeles where he also develops television series.
NICK STAMATAKIS (Music Director) is a local pianist, music director and composer who has worked with dozens of theaters and arts organizations in the region including Carnegie Stage, Musical Theater Artists of Pittsburgh, 12 Peers Theater and Arcade Comedy Theater
JULIANNE AVOLIO (Beth) is delighted to be a part of the SPARK festival this year. Currently, Julianne can be found living the #swinglife over at the CLO Cabaret in Up and Away. Julianne is a Pittsburgh actor and improviser who has performed with City Theatre, Bricolage, Kinetic Theatre, Arcade Comedy Theater, and others.
JEFFREY HOWELL (Todd-Michael Smyth) is happy to be a part of SPARK, having just completed Citizens Market at City Theatre and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at the Public Theater. His more than eighty productions at PCLO include Disney's Newsies, Bells Are Ringing, Hello Dolly, Sunset Boulevard, South Pacific and Me and My Girl.
CAROLINE NICOLIAN (El Yamasaki Brooks) is thrilled to be returning to Spark after her appearance in Xanadu last April! A native of Pittsburgh, she has appeared in numerous shows around the area with PCLO, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Pittsburgh Musical Theatre, and PICT, to name a few.
SHELLEY THOMAS-HARTS (Liz Cohen) has starred in the original casts of Triassic Parq and Zanna, Don't! (Cast Recordings) Brooklyn the Musical (Broadway); Rent (Broadway Tour); Lincoln Center; Long Wharf; La Jolla Playhouse. TV: Shades of Blue; Blindspot; Elementary. Backup vocalist-Vanessa Williams.
