Drew Lachey (Corny Collins)

A native of Cincinnati, Drew Lachey is an accomplished singer, dancer and actor. Drew first rose to prominence as a member of 98 Degrees. The group recorded four successful albums and sold more then 10 million records worldwide. Drew made his Broadway debut in 2004 playing the role of Mark Cohen in Rent. His latest Broadway credit is playing the role of Patsy in Monty Python’s Spamalot. Drew’s television credits include “Dancing With The Stars” Champion and host, host of “Dance War” and HGTV’s “$250,000 Challenge.” Drew currently resides in Ohio with his wife Lea, daughter Isabella and son Hudson.

     
   

Jim J. Bullock (Wilbur Turnblad)

Mr. Bullock played Wilbur on Broadway, the first national tour. Awarded the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle for his performance in the west coast premiere of When Pigs Fly and appeared Off-Broadway in the critically acclaimed End Of The World Party. Jim J. was Monroe for six seasons on ABC’s “Too Close for Comfort,” also “The Hollywood Squares,” NBC’s “Alf,” with Tammy Faye in “The Jim J. and Tammy Faye Show” and Nickelodeon’s “Ned’s Declassified.” He has worked in film with such noted directors as Blake Edwards in “Switch” and Mel Brooks in the cult classic “Space Balls.”

     
   
Michael Kadin Craig (Link Larkin)

Mr. Craig was last seen in the closing cast of Altar Boyz Off-Broadway as Matthew. NYC: High School Musical 2 and HSM Yearbook with Disney Theatricals, Broadway’s Leading Men IV at Birdland Jazz, Lincoln Center’s Only Children and Things to Ruin at Joes Pub and Ars Nova. Regional: HSM 1 & 2 (Troy) at Casa Manana and Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, The 60’s Project at Goodspeed (directed by Richard Maltby, Jr.), Jonathan in tick...tick…BOOM! and Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. Michael was seen on “American Idol 2” as a Hollywood Finalist.

     
 
Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Tracy Turnblad)

Credits include Broadway: Hairspray (Tracy standby), Hairspray Vegas with Harvey Fierstien (Tracy). Off Broadway: Bloodsong of Love (original cast world premiere, Drama desk nominated), Things To Ruin-The Songs of Joe Iconis (second stage), Jerry Springer the Opera at Carnegie Hall (Shawntel). Katrina was also the Tracy standby on the 1st Nat’l Tour of Hairspray and can be seen performing around New York with the Joe Iconis Family. She has performed in numerous readings and workshops of new musicals including Addams Family, Clueless, Minsky’s and Carrie. Erica Durham (Little Inez)

Erica, 16, is a junior at Central Valley High School located near Pittsburgh and is a high honors student. She has participated in her school’s productions of Jesus Christ Superstar as a Soul Girl and Grease as Marty. She received two nominations for Henry Mancini Awards for both roles. She is also a member of her high school chorus and show choir. Erica studies at the CLO Academy.

     
 
Kecia Lewis-Evans (Motormouth Maybelle)

Broadway: Chicago, Shrek, The Drowsy Chaperone, Once on This Island, Ain’t Misbehavin’, The Gospel at Colonus, Big River, Dreamgirls. Off-Broadway: Dessa Rose (Drama Desk nominee), Once on This Island, From the Mississippi Delta. Regional: Dreamgirls (Ovation Award winner), Polk County (Bay Area Outer Critics Circle Award winner), Smokey Joe’s Café, The King and I, South Pacific, The Sound of Music. TV: “Law & Order,” “Kate Brasher,” “Crossing Jordan,” “The Hughley’s.” Kecia will soon appear in the Broadway bound new musical Leap of Faith, and will make her Carnegie Hall debut in the gospel version of Handel’s Messiah, Too Hot To Handel.

     
   
Stuart Marland (Harriman F. Spritzer, Mr. Pinky, Principal, Guard)

Mr. Marland has appeared on Broadway in Xanadu (understudy for Tony Roberts), as ‘Lumiere’ in Beauty and the Beast, ‘General Lord Glossop’ and ‘Mr. Utterson’ in Jekyll & Hyde and in Cyrano - The Musical. National Tours include ‘Roger DeBris’ in The Producers, ‘General Genghis Kahn Schmitz’ in Seussical (with Cathy Rigby), ‘Juan Peron’ in Evita, Ragtime, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with Sarah Brightman, The Who’s Tommy, A Chorus Line, Sophisticated Ladies and The King and I (with Rudolf Nureyev). Rashad Naylor (Seaweed J. Stubbs)

Mr. Naylor is thrilled to be revisiting the world of Baltimore. He originated the role of “Thad” in the Tony Award winning Broadway company of Hairspray. He also played “Seaweed” as well as made Broadway history performing as a male “Dynamite.” Rashad recently just finished the role of “Barry Belson” in Jersey Boys (Chicago Company). Other credits include “The Scarecrow” in Des McAnuff’s reimagining of The Wiz and “Sammy Davis Jr.” in The Rat Pack: Live from Vegas.

     
   
Niki Scalera (Penny Pingleton)

Ms. Scalera is thrilled to be making her PCLO debut as Penny after playing the role on Broadway! Other Broadway credits include: Tarzan, Jane u/s; Neil Simon’s Jakes Women. Off-Broadway: The American Dream with James Naughton; Richard Greenberg’s Vanishing Act. Vegas: We Will Rock You. Ashley Spencer (Amber Von Tussle)

Ms. Spencer is thrilled to be returning to Pittsburgh after appearing as Eponine in Les Misérables last season. Her Broadway credits include: Grease (Sandy Dumbrowski) and Hairspray (Amber Von Tussle). Regional: MUNY, Pittsburgh CLO. She was a finalist on the NBC talent competition series “Grease: You’re The One That I Want.”

     

 
Paul Vogt (Edna Turnblad)
This is Paul’s first time at PCLO. Paul performed the role of Edna on Broadway at the Neil Simon. He also replaced Harvey Fierstein in the Las Vegas production. Paul can be seen in the Garry Marshall film “Valentines Day” and he has worked on the broadway bound musical Minsky’s. Audiences will remember Paul from “MADtv.” He was the breakout star of NBC’s “The Rerun Show” in which he played another Edna; Mrs. Edna Garrett from “The Facts of Life.” Paul made his opera debut in LA Opera’s production of, The Grand Duchess. Paul voiced a role in the animated hit film “Igor” and recently in the upcoming animated film “Norm of the North.” Regional theater credits: Hairspray (NSMT.Sacramento Music Circus and The MUNY) Assassins (Sam Byke), Much Ado About Nothing (Dogberry), Hamlet (Gravedigger), Greater Tuna (Thurston etc.), The Magic Flute (Papagano), Tom Fontana’s The Candidate (Rousselin), Comedy Warehouse, Disney (Improvisational Actor). Film credits include: “Blonde Ambition,” “Princess Diaries 2,” “Good Boy,” “Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch” and “Raising Helen.” Other television credits: “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Glee,” “Johnny and the Sprites,” “Hannah Montana,” “Arrested Development,” “Reno 911,” “Maximum Bob” and “Chicago Hope.”

  

Creative team

Barry Ivan (Director and Choreographer)
Mr. Ivan is associated with theatres throughout the United States and Europe ranging from Guest Director at Yale to his production of West Side Story at the German State Opera. Mr. Ivan’s productions of the regional premiere of Hairspray and The Full Monty have received IRNE awards for Best Musical, and Mr. Ivan has been IRNE nominated as Best Director for his productions of Les Misérables and Nine. Other selected CLO directing highlights include A Little Night Music starring Dee Hoty and Beth Leavel; Company starring Malcolm Gets and Michelle Pawk, Anything Goes starring Carolee Carmello, and The Full Monty featuring Sally Struthers. Actively involved in new works, Mr. Ivan had the pleasure of directing the US Premiere of Dracula: A Chamber Musical; and working with Maury Yeston when he staged In the Beginning; and Tales of Tinseltown in NYC at the Acorn Theatre in association with the Director’s Company. Mr. Ivan has directed two television pilots, “Empire” and “Rags to Bitches” and is currently involved as Producer of the upcoming television show “Common Cents” starring Jean Chatzky.
 

Tom Helm (Music Director)
Mr. Helm returns for his fifteenth season with Pittsburgh CLO. On Broadway, he was musical director of Les Misérables, of Me and My Girl, and the revival of Brigadoon. He was musical director of the first national tour of Cats, and conducted Cats on Broadway early in its run. At Radio City, he conducted 5-6-7-8 Dance! starring Sandy Duncan. Tom is also the resident music director at Paper Mill Playhouse, where he has conducted some 30 productions, including Follies (also on CD), Crazy For You (also on PBS), and She Loves Me. He is the musical supervisor for the live theatre productions of Diego Live, Blue’s Clues and Dora the Explorer. Recently, Tom was musical supervisor of the Broadway play-with-music, Souvenir with Judy Kaye. 
 

John McClain (Lighting Designer)
Mr. McClain’s credits include National and International productions of musicals, ballet and opera. He has spent 21 years designing for Pittsburgh CLO. He has designed for Ice Capades, Radio City Music Hall, The Lido in Paris, Jubilee for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Reno. He has represented every major regional theater and opera company in the USA. In the summer, he divides time between Pittsburgh CLO, Theater of the Stars in Atlanta and the Dallas Summer Musicals. He has designed productions of Porgy and Bess all over the world. He has been represented on the road by Rugrats, Camelot, Joseph..., The King & I, The Sound of Music and Bombay Dreams. John lives in New York City and Connecticut.
