Joey Fatone (Franz Liebkind)

Born Joseph Anthony Fatone Jr. When Fatone was 17, he got a job at Universal Studios in the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue. While there, he met Chris Kirkpatrick, which led to his joining the group *NSYNC. Following *NSYNC’s international success Fatone continued to perform on both stage and screen. Fatone’s film credits include “The Cooler,” alongside Alec Baldwin and William H. Macy, “Homie Spumoni” with Whoopi Goldberg and the top grossing independent film of all time “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” Broadway credits include starring roles in Little Shop of Horrors and Rent. In 2007, Fatone finished 2nd on “Dancing With the Stars” and recently, Fatone has appeared on “Hanna Montana” and Playhouse Disneys “Imagination Movers”. In 2010, Fatone has completed the filming of 2 movies and is working on a number of television projects. Fatone and his wife, Kelly, currently reside in Orlando with their daughters, Briahna and Kloey. He remains actively involved with his charity, The Fatone Family Foundation.

     
 
John Treacy Egan (Max Bialystock)

Mr. Egan appeared in the recent revival of Bye Bye Birdie at the Roundabout Theater. He created the role Chef Louis in Disney’s The Little Mermaid on Broadway. He played Max Bialystock in the Broadway Production of The Producers as well as the roles of Roger DeBris and Franz Liebkind. He was an original cast member of the Broadway production of Jekyll & Hyde. Off-Broadway, John created roles in Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly! (RCA Records), and was also an original cast member of Batboy The Musical. He has appeared on “30 Rock”, “Cupid”, “Law & Order”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, and “As The World Turns.” He can be seen in the upcoming film “Last Night” with Sam Worthington and Eva Mendes, and the film version of “The Producers.” He can also be seen in the upcoming HBO series Martin Scorcese’s “Boardwalk Empire” fall 2010. Stuart Marland (Roger DeBris)

Mr. Marland has appeared on Broadway in Xanadu (understudy for Tony Roberts), as ‘Lumiere’ in Beauty and the Beast, ‘General Lord Glossop’ and ‘Mr. Utterson’ in Jekyll & Hyde and in Cyrano - The Musical. National Tours include ‘Roger DeBris’ in The Producers, ‘General Genghis Kahn Schmitz’ in Seussical (with Cathy Rigby,) ‘Juan Peron’ in Evita, Ragtime, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with Sarah Brightman, The Who’s Tommy, A Chorus Line, Sophisticated Ladies and The King and I (with Rudolf Nureyev.) Recent regional and stock roles include ‘Thenardier’ in Les Misérables, ‘Bobby Franklyn’ in Run For Your Wife, ‘The Captain/Hennessy’ in Dames at Sea and ‘Dr. Carrasco’ in Man of La Mancha.

     
 
Ashley Spencer (Ulla)

Ms. Spencer is thrilled to be returning to Pittsburgh after appearing as Eponine in Les Misérables last season. Her Broadway credits include: Grease (Sandy Dumbrowski) and Hairspray (Amber Von Tussle). Regional: MUNY, Pittsburgh CLO. She was a finalist on the NBC talent competition series “Grease: You’re The One That I Want.”

     
   

Jim Stanek (Leo Bloom)

A Cranberry Township native who got his “start” at the CLO Academy, performing with the Mini Stars, and in numerous CLO shows including: Camelot and Mame. He graduated from CMU and left for NY! Broadway: The Story Of My Life; Lestat; Little Women; The Rivals; A Funny Thing Happened...(Hero)*; Indiscretions (understudied Jude Law). John Walton West (Carmen Ghia)

Mr. West is making his Pittsburgh CLO debut. National tours: The Drowsy Chaperone (Man in Chair), The Producers (Carmen Ghia). Regional credits include: The Producers, You Can’t Take it With You, Moby Dick! (American Premiere), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Woman in Black, The Royal Family.

 

Creative team

Bill Burns (Director and Choreographer)
Mr. Burns is directing a Pittsburgh CLO production for the first time. Most recently, Bill served as Resident Choreographer on the US Premiere Tour of Dirty Dancing and directed & choreographed the 2010 Japanese premiere production of Curtains. He previously served as resident director and choreographer for the National Tour and Las Vegas company of The Producers. He has directed and choreographed international companies of The Producers in Japan, Korea and Mexico City in their respective languages. Regionally, he also mounted productions of the show at North Shore Music Theatre, The Muny in St. Louis (Kevin Kline Award nomination), the Ogunquit Playhouse and Lyric Theatre. Mr. Burns’ Broadway and National Tour performing credits include Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Fosse, Guys and Dolls, Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life, Chita & All That Jazz, Can-Can, Beauty and The Beast, Victor/Victoria, and La Cage Aux Folles.

 

Tom Helm (Music Director)
Mr. Helm returns for his fifteenth season with Pittsburgh CLO. On Broadway, he was musical director of Les Misérables, of Me and My Girl, and the revival of Brigadoon. He was musical director of the first national tour of Cats, and conducted Cats on Broadway early in its run. At Radio City, he conducted 5-6-7-8 Dance! starring Sandy Duncan. Tom is also the resident music director at Paper Mill Playhouse, where he has conducted some 30 productions, including Follies (also on CD), Crazy For You (also on PBS), and She Loves Me. He is the musical supervisor for the live theatre productions of Diego Live, Blue’s Clues and Dora the Explorer. Recently, Tom was musical supervisor of the Broadway play-with-music, Souvenir with Judy Kaye.
 

Andrew David Ostrowski (Lighting Designer)
Recent work includes ’S Wonderful, The Jimmy™ Awards, The Blonde, the Brunette, and the Vengeful Redhead and A Confluence of Dreaming. For the CLO Cabaret, Andy has designed the following: Forever Plaid, Forbidden Broadway, Always...Patsy Cline, Plaid Tidings, Shear Madness, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, My Way, 8-TRACK, and Nunsense. For Pittsburgh CLO Andy has designed My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly, Funny Girl, Carousel, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. From 1998 through 2007 Andy was the Associate Lighting Designer for Pittsburgh CLO’s summer season designing over 50 productions. This year, he was the Lighting Designer for The National High School Musical Theater Awards at Broadway’s Marquis Theatre. Nationally, Andy has designed for North Shore Music Theater, Dallas Summer Musicals, Atlanta’s Theater of the Stars, Virginia Stage Company, Madison Opera, Merrimack Repertory Theater, North Carolina’s Blumenthal Center, Spoleto Festival USA, and The Arden Theater. Locally Andy has designed for City Theatre, Playhouse Repertory Company, Pittsburgh Opera, PICT, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Playhouse Conservatory Company, PNME, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, as well as, several others. Andy was the Lighting Director for an International Tour of the Gershwin Opera Porgy and Bess. Andy was awarded a national merit award in 2002 for his work on Grand Hotel.
