Mark Indelicato (The Artful Dodger)

Mr. Indelicato is best known as Justin Suarez on the hit ABC show “Ugly Betty”, 15-year-old Mark Indelicato has proven himself as a talent to watch. The show was awarded a Golden Globe, earned 11 Emmy nominations; the most for any comedy series, and was nominated as Favorite TV Comedy for the 2009 People’s Choice Awards. Indelicato was awarded an Alma Award for best actor in a comedy. He got his start in theater, starring in La Vie En Bleu and A Christmas Carol on the main stage at Philadelphia’s historic Walnut Street Theatre. In 2009, he was asked to play Boq in the benefit performance of the Broadway show Wicked. Mark is currently training with vocal coach Liz Caplan and is a gifted singer and songwriter. Indelicato, a Pennsylvania native, has trained at the The Actors Center in Philadelphia and currently lives in New York with his family.

     
 
John Treacy Egan (Mr. Bumble, the Beadle)

John appeared in the recent revival of Bye Bye Birdie at the Roundabout Theater. He created the role Chef Louis in Disney’s The Little Mermaid on Broadway. He played Max Bialystock in the Broadway Production of The Producers as well as the roles of Roger DeBris and Franz Liebkind. He was an original cast member of the Broadway production of Jekyll & Hyde Off-Broadway, John created roles in Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly! (RCA Records), and was also an original cast member of Batboy The Musical. He has appeared on “30 Rock”, “Cupid”, “Law & Order”, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, and “As The World Turns” He can be seen in the upcoming film “Last Night” with Sam Worthington and Eva Mendes, and the film version of “The Producers.” He can also be seen in the upcoming HBO series Martin Scorcese’s “Boardwalk Empire” fall 2010. Jeff Howell (Mr. Brownlow)

Mr. Howell is a Pittsburgh actor/singer who has a long list of theatre and concert credits. Jeff’s onstage credits include Beauty and the Beast (Cogsworth), Candide (Dr. Pangloss), Bells are Ringing with Victoria Clark (Dr. Kitchell) A Musical Christmas Carol (Bob Cratchit), Fezziwig in the world premiere of Christopher Durang’s Mrs. Bob Cratchit’s Wild Christmas Binge, Chicago (Billy Flynn) and Man of LaMancha (Innkeeper). Television credits include “All My Children”, “The Young and the Restless”, “Equal Justice”, and “The Oksana Baiul Story”. Films: “The Cemetery Club” with Ellen Burstyn, “Sudden Death” with Jean-Claude Van Damme, “The Dark Half” with Timothy Hutton and “The Bride in Black” with Susan Lucci. His past work with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra includes A Tribute to Lerner and Loewe with Marvin Hamlisch, Of Thee I Sing, Classical Rap, The Wishing Tree and Peter and the Wolf.

Gene Saraceni (Dr. Grimwig)

Gene’s Pittsburgh CLO credits include Joseph...Dreamcoat, Sound of Music, Me and My Girl, Guys and Dolls, South Pacific, Pajama Game, Kiss Me Kate, Most Happy Fella, Fiorello!, Annie, My Fair Lady, Kismet, Anything Goes, Can-Can, Carousel, Song of Norway, Fanny, two productions of West Side Story and three of 1776. This is Gene’s second production of Oliver!. His Regional credits include the PICT productions Tartuffe and Hamlet and City Theatre’s Temptation. Early in his career he toured the US and Canada in Shakespearean repertory. In 2003 “Doc” Saraceni became Professor Emeritus of Theatre after having taught at Seton Hill University for 37 years.

     
 
Joseph Serafini (Oliver Twist)

Joseph, 12, is an avid piano student completing his 6th year of dance and musical theater at the CLO Academy. Joseph studies private voice with Dr. Kim Steinhaur. Stage experience: A Musical Christmas Carol (Tiny Tim 2005-2008, Turkey Boy 2009), Oklahoma! (Chorus), Peter Pan (Michael Darling), Joseph and the Amazing… (Choir), and national touring production Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Pittsburgh) (Orphan). Kristin Serafini (Bet)

Ms. Serafini, 16, is thrilled to be returning to the Benedum Stage for Oliver! Craig Barna (Music Director)
Mr. Barna has conducted on Broadway, in Los Angeles, and for many prominent stock and regional theater companies across the country including the Orlando Opera Company, Arizona Theatre Company, the Muny, and the Civic Light Operas of Pittsburgh and Sacramento, and has been a guest faculty member at the Universities of Southern California and Arizona. Along the way he has had the pleasure of working with Debby Boone, Juliet Prowse, Barry Williams, Jack Jones, Rex Smith, and Helen Reddy, among others. Craig has conducted the national tours of Grease with Jack Wagner, Singin’ in the Rain, the Broadway milestone Cats, and the touring and broadway companies of Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson, and Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby. Other career highlights include TV appearances on the “Today Show,” “CBS This Morning,” “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” the 1999 “Tony® Awards,” conducting symphony concert series for John Raitt, Anna Maria Alberghetti, Richard White and Susan Powell, and performing for Presidents Ford and Bush. In addition to being a published arranger and composer, Mr. Barna is also enjoying a prolific career as a recording artist for TER records in the U.K., with his studio cast recordings of Good News!, 42nd Street, Singin’ in the Rain, and Peter Pan with the London National Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. Craig most recently conducted the benefit “Carol Channing and Friends” with Carol Channing, Carol Cook and JoAnne Worley at California Musical Theatre. Mr. Barna was born and raised in California, resides in Manhattan.

 

John McClain (Lighting Designer)
Mr. McClain’s credits include National and International productions of musicals, ballet and opera. He has spent 20 years designing for Pittsburgh CLO. He has designed for Ice Capades, Radio City Music Hall, The Lido in Paris, Jubilee for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Reno. He has represented every major regional theater and opera company in the USA. In the summer, he divides time between Pittsburgh CLO, Theater of the Stars in Atlanta and the Dallas Summer Musicals. He has designed productions of Porgy and Bess all over the world. He has been represented on the road by Rugrats, Camelot, Joseph..., The King & I, The Sound of Music and Bombay Dreams. John lives in New York City and Connecticut.
