The Charles Gray Award for Excellence in Arts Education, Sponsored by the Roy A. Hunt Foundation
Description:
A Special award made annually by the Pittsburgh CLO to an elementary, middle or secondary school in Allegheny County that has demonstrated an enduring commitment to quality arts education for all students as a required part of the curriculum.
Purpose:
To recognize and honor Charles Gray's special contribution to musical theater and arts education as Executive Director of the Pittsburgh CLO.
To recognize and encourage schools that have demonstrated an enduring commitment to quality arts education for all students as a required part of the curriculum.
Recognition:
The winning school will receive a $3,000 cash prize for arts programming in their school, an award plaque to display in the school, and a specially designed CLO program which will be presented to students in their school building.
The Pittsburgh CLO will work with the media to publicize the award, the application process, and the winning school to area educators and the general public.
