Master Classes for Students

Pittsburgh CLO Academy Master Classes and Workshops are one-time classes that allow students the opportunity to learn directly from working professionals. Past master classes have featured guest artists from  Broadway companies and current national tours.

  • Master classes are scheduled throughout the school year.
  • Participating ages and cost may vary depending on the content of the class.
  • You do not have to be an Academy student to attend.

“Seize The Day” with this exclusive event! Join cast members from Pittsburgh CLO’s production of Disney’s Newsies for an exciting, all-ages master class featuring choreography directly from the show. Package includes the Master Class at the CLO Academy, a question-and answer session with the industry pros, and a ticket to the 8pm show at the Benedum Center.

Please Note: Chaperones will not be provided to transport students from the Master Class to the show. We recommend a parent accompany any participants under 12 years old. Discounted Tickets are available for parents who wish to accompany their student to the show.

3-Day Acting Intensive

3 Professionals. 3 Days.  3 Acting Styles. Join Pittsburgh CLO Academy for 3 days of intensive acting training! Hone your stage, audition and on-camera acting technique while working closely with three masters of the craft.  Take each class individually for $50 or take the package and save!
Students of all skill levels and backgrounds encouraged – you do not need to be a CLO Academy student to attend.

Originally from Rochester, NY and is thrilled to be making his Pittsburgh CLO debut this summer in Newsies and In the Heights! Point Park graduate. Concert Dance: August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble, Houston Metropolitan Dance Company, Owen/Cox Dance, Ballet Inc. Regional: West Side Story (Nibbles, Paper Mill Playhouse). Catie Brown is a native of Butler, PA.  She holds a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati and B.M. in Music Education from Slippery Rock University.  Catie currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Robert Morris University, an Assistant Professor and Accompanist in the Conservatory of the Performing Arts at Point Park University, and as an Accompanist for Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama.  She is also the Music Director at St. Fidelis Parish in Butler, PA.  At the CLO Academy, Catie teaches private and group voice, private piano, audition techniques, and musical theater classes.  Her public school classroom teaching, music directing, and accompaniment experience is extensive, having most recently performed for engagements with the Pittsburgh CLO, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Pittsburgh Musical Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater, R.W.S. and Associates, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, the rock band Kansas, West Virginia Public Theater, Keystone State Music Theater, The Pittsburgh Playhouse, New Castle Playhouse, and Slippery Rock University. She’s grateful for the opportunity to work with the fantastic students at the Pittsburgh CLO Academy.

Justin Fortunato graduated from Point Park Conservatory in 2011 with his BFA in Musical Theatre. He is an actor and director and has worked with companies around Pittsburgh including The Pittsburgh Public, Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, The REP, Primestage Theatre, Pittsburgh CLO, and St. Vincent Summer Theater. He is the co-founder and artistic director of Carnivale Theatrics, and the Associate Artistic Producing Director of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School.
