Summer Season

What:  Auditions for Pittsburgh CLO's 2018 Summer Season - TITANIC, THE FULL MONTY, BRIGADOON, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. We will not be casting ON YOUR FEET!

Who: Trained Singers, Dancers and Character Actors. Please note that Chorus Members must be able to sing and dance. Most age appropriate roles are cast from the chorus. We recommend those under the age of 30 should audition for the chorus.

Children's roles will be cast from students of the Pittsburgh CLO Academy. For infomation regarding enrollment, contact 412-281-2234. Audition dates for children are TBD. Please do not submit this application for anyone under the age of 18.

We do not accept video submissions for the summer season

Requirements:
All performers must bring a headshot and typed resume stapled together, and a completed Audition Application.

Trained Singers
Age 18+
Head shot and resume
16 bars each of an up-tempo and a ballad both in traditional musical theater style.

Trained Dancers
Age 18+
Head shot and resume
Be prepared to learn a jazz, tap and ballet combination and acrobatics if you are able

Actors
Age 30+ not auditioning to be in the chorus
Head shot and resume
16 Bars of one song


Audition Process:

  • Email us to set up a time for your appointment using this link. We will email your confirmation time back.
     
  • Download and complete the Audition Application along with a typed resume and headshot. You will need to bring these items to your audition appointment.

Weekend Schedule:  Please note that Saturday times are reserved for out-of-town applicants only. Applicants residing in Pittsburgh during this time period will not be scheduled on Saturday.
 

Chorus Dance auditions:

  • Friday, February 23 (9am)
  • Saturday February 24 (9am)

You may be asked to stay & sing. Have your music prepared. Final call backs are Sunday, February 25.

Chorus Singer auditions:

  • Thursday, February 22 (12pm - 6pm) 
  • Friday, February 23 (10am - 3pm)        
  • Saturday, February 24 (10am - 8pm)

You may be asked to stay & learn a jazz, tap & ballet combination. Bring your dance clothes & appropriate shoes. Final call backs are Sunday, February 25. 

Character Actor auditions:

  • Thursday, February 22 (7:30pm - 9:30pm)
    Call backs are Friday, February 23 (7:30pm - 9:30pm)

Auditions: Where Stars Shine!  

 

WHAT:  Auditions for PERFECT WEDDING, by Robin Hawdon. Directed by Michael Barakiva.

The production will begin rehearsals on Monday, April 23, 2018. Performances at the CLO Cabaret will run from Thursday, May 10, 2018 through Sunday, August 12, 2018. Possible extension through August 26, 2018.

SEEKING:

A company of comedic actors for the farce PERFECT WEDDING. See below for casting breakdown. Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to submit for all roles.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • All parts will be on an AEA SPT contract.
  • EMC and non-union members who meet the requested role requirements may audition.
  • No housing, transportation or per diem for out-of-area performers 

CASTING BREAKDOWN:

Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to read for PERFECT WEDDING.

BILL, the groom (early 30s to late 30s) – One of those effortlessly handsome straight guys who’s so used to having everything done for him that he’s lost the ability to do anything for himself.

RACHEL, the bride (mid 20s to late 30s) – A put-together, organized, composed woman who’s used to getting what she wants and she wants a perfect wedding and she’s going to get that perfect wedding come hell or high water.

TOM, the best man (early 30s to late 30s) – A put-together, organized, composed guy who’s well on his way to becoming the eccentric bachelor he’s destined to be.

JUDY, his girlfriend (mid 20s to late 30s) – One of those effortlessly attractive women who’s so used to having people accommodate her desires that she’s grown accustomed to it.

JULIE, a chambermaid (early 20s to late 30s) – A true eccentric whose grasp on reality is shaky enough that the events of this farce don’t feel that far-fetched to her.

DAPHNE, the bride’s mother (mid 40s to late 50s) – Mother of Bridezilla.  This wedding is more important to her than it is to anyone else in the play, and she’s going to make sure everybody knows.

REQUIREMENTS/PREPARATION:

Auditions on Saturday, February 17 will consist of individual appointments.

Please bring/prepare:

  • A headshot and resume, stapled together
  • A completed Audition Application
    • Audition Applications are available HERE. Paper copies will also be available on the day of auditions.
  • A contemporary comedic monologue of your choice (memorized; no longer than 1 minute)
  • Please note that you may be asked to read sides. Sides will be provided at the audition.

Auditions: Where Stars Shine!  

 

WHAT:  Auditions for Pittsburgh CLO’s inaugural festival of new small-cast musicals, SPARK.

SPARK readings and workshops will rehearse on individual schedules the weeks of March 19 – April 8. Each reading or workshop will have 2-3 public presentations during the rehearsal period.

SEEKING:

A company of actors and singers for the SPARK line-up of readings and workshops. Full programming is available HERE, and character descriptions for readings and workshops are available HERE. Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to submit for all roles.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Workshops will be contracted under an SPT 9 agreement. Public readings will be contracted under a Staged Reading Agreement.
  • EMC and non-union members who meet the requested role requirements may audition.

  • 16 bars of 2 contrasting songs
    • Sheet music for your audition song selections
  • A memorized monologue of your choice (no longer than 1 minute)
